Tara Sheldon, MSW is a Professional Life Coach with a background in clinical social work. She has experience working with LGBT people at the Whitman Walker Clinic and with adults with developmental disabilities.     

Trained by MentorCoach, the internationally acclaimed leader of coach training for mental health practitioners, Tara is also a member of International Coaching Federation, the National Association of Social Workers, and Feng Shui Institute of America.

Tara is a certified feng shui consultant specializing in helping people clear their clutter.  Her workshops address more than just material clutter.  Her unique background of social work, feng shui, and life coaching enables her to challenge her clients to conquer emotional, physical, and mental clutter too.  She has also created workshops for mental health professionals to ensure their clinical spaces are conducive to their clients’ well-being and growth.  Coming from four generations of artists, she has an intuitive sense of space that allows her to help create environments in which her clients can abandon chaos and thrive.        

The Washington Examiner published an article about Tara’s work helping a family with their 10 year old daughter’s bedroom in their September 2005 weekend issue.

Tara lives in Virginia with her partner Kristie and son Emerson.  An animal lover and vegetarian for over 25 years, she also has one dog, four cats, and a plethora of fish.  A self described "dancing fool," an avid gardener, and lover of the great outdoors, Tara enjoys taking Emerson and their dog for long strolls on the beach and going whale watching every chance she gets!
